Baptism and membership are open to all, regardless of age, gender, race or ethnicity, sexuality, gender identity or nonidentity, economic background, or ability.

Baptism

At Clay Church we believe that baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith. Just as Jesus himself was baptized, so we are baptized as a declaration of the faith we hold in our hearts. Clay Church believes in the baptism of infants and adheres to the idea of one baptism - if you were baptized at another time in your life, you do not need to be baptized again to join Clay Church. If you would like to learn more or schedule a baptism, contact jleonard@claychurch.com.

Membership
Members of Clay Church desire to follow Jesus more closely and to support the church with their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. New members participate in a single afternoon Membership Class. If you're currently a member of another United Methodist Church, it's easy to transfer your membership to join us. To inquire about joining or to learn more about the next Membership class, contact jleonard@claychurch.com.

Confirmation
We confirm teenagers during their eighth grade year after an eight-month Confirmation class led by pastors and family ministry staff. Older students may also join the Confirmation program. Confirmed teenagers are full, adult members of the Church and are expected to uphold the same membership responsibilities as their parents. To make sure your student is a part of Confirmation class, contact lminer@claychurch.com.
